In an endeavour to foster evidence-based dialogues and forge collaborative pathways, Power Shift Africa convened diverse stakeholders for a side event during the Africa Climate Summit. The objective was to chart a unified course for just and effective transition strategies in Africa. The event attendees comprised of economists, experts in energy and development, and passionate advocates for food sovereignty in Africa. With this diverse assembly, the stage was set for comprehensive discussions and the formulation of innovative solutions. The event adhered to the principle of "leave no one behind." This inclusive ethos guided the proceedings, emphasising the importance of an all-encompassing transition. Guiding questions served as beacons, illuminating critical topics such as the imperative need for groundbreaking innovations, the transfer of essential technologies, and the strategic formulation of policies. The conversation extended to exploring transformative strategies. Among the key focal points were innovative business models and the augmentation of incentives for investments. It was widely acknowledged that these measures, coupled with the facilitation of affordable and accessible financing, hold the potential to propel Africa toward the realisation of its climate objectives.
