Over the last decade, Kenya has made significant strides in expanding electricity connectivity, from only 30% in 2014 to more than 75% in 2024.

As the country joins the Mission 300 initiative through its National Energy Compact (2025–2030), important questions arise about how it can expand energy access in ways that are equitable, affordable, and climate-compatible.
